Principal Dexter Wansley greeted more than 600 family members gathered at Ridge Road Primary School for the annual Grandparents' Tea Saturday, September 6. Sign-in rosters reflected 435 grandparents who had grandchildren and some parents in tow.  The morning began with homemade chocolate chip cookies and tea followed by a short program. RRP Oratorical Club made a brief presentation, introducing themselves and telling what they like most about visiting their grandparents. Attendees then toured the classrooms and gathered back in the cafeteria for door prizes. The PATHS (Parents and Teachers Helping Students) group sold school t-shirts and family pictures. Grandparent Michael Phillips commented, “This was a great opportunity to visit my granddaughter’s classroom and see where she spends a large part of her day. I enjoyed the tea and appreciated the opportunity.”

Many thanks to the Grandparents’ Tea committee members: Sharee McDonald, Erica Carter, Sara Webb, Angelia Hall, Pam Hypolite, Yasmin McBride, Jenna Smith, Karen Moye, and Jennifer Thames.
