Young Named CEFGA Ambassador of the Year

Antonio Young, WCHS SkillsUSA advisor and WCHS construction trades teacher was recognized by Superintendent Hinton for being named Ambassador of the Year for CEFGA (Construction Education Foundation of Georgia).  Mr. Young was recognized for promoting CEFGA and its mission to his colleagues and students. Young maintained his construction program accreditation and encouraged other teachers to maintain/attain theirs throughout the year.

"I am honored to receive this recognition and was totally surprised at the ceremony. I feel very fortunate to have the support from my principal, Dr. Al Gray, CTAE Director Vickie Harden, and Superintendent Dr. Donna Hinton. Our program continues to grow and with the new labs classroom construction bay work area, we will be able to do bigger and better things in the program,” Young said. “Helping students make the transition from school to career is one of our goals in all the CTAE instruction programs.”

According to their website, CEFGA has worked since 1993 to promote careers in construction by attracting, training and motivating the next generation of construction professionals. CEFGA is building the construction industry…one person at a time. CEFGA facilitates career placement, manages the SkillsUSA Georgia design, metals and construction contests, and hosts one of the nation’s largest construction career expo. In addition, CEFGA administers the NCCER accreditation program in cooperation with the Georgia Department of Education.
