Sandersville teacher wins "My Teacher is Tops" | Community Spirit
4th grade math and science teacher Tiffany Prince of Ridge Road Elementary School in Sandersville is this week's "My Teacher is Tops" winner.
Her student wrote 13WMAZ a letter three months ago. Ms. Prince was so proud that she saved a copy. But they were both caught off guard Wednesday morning when junior journalist Malik Bryant surprised them with the news.
The letter says Ms. Prince "is a smart and loving teacher" and "as pretty as a butterfly."
Prince has been teaching for 17 years, and has been in Washington County for most of that time. Right now, she's teaching her students about fractions in math and physics in science.
Her students say she comes up with creative ways for them to learn. I science, they made catapults out of spoons and popsicle sticks and measure the distance they could shoot a peanut.
"It's the problem solving that I like," Prince says. "Just watching them learn and explore and solve problems on their own."
