But Thanksgiving in the USA also seems to have become a time to celebrate (and vent about) our dysfunctional families.

Community health fair offers free screenings

The health fair offers free screenings involving vision screens, blood pressure checks, hearing tests as well as reduced price labs.

That's on Tuesday, Dec. 10 from 8 a.m. until noon at Central Georgia Technical College in the Health Services Building on 54 Hwy 22 West Milledgeville.

DNR aims to increase quail population

DNR aims to increase quail population

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources says they hope a partnership with numerous organizations in the state will boost the quail population.

Earlier this evening several groups signed the Georgia Bobwhite Quail Technical Team Memorandum of Agreement.

It's a mouthful, but what it means is that, DNR will provide free help to farmers or land owners that want to tailor their landscape to make it more quail friendly.

Freeze warning for much of Central Georgia

Freeze warning for much of Central Georgia

A freeze warning is in effect for much of Middle Georgia tonight, into Wednesday morning. This warning includes the cities of Macon, Warner Robins, Gray, Milledgeville, Forsyth, Thomaston, Sparta, and Sandersville.

At this point, the warning does not include our southeastern counties, including the cities of Dublin, Eastman, and McRae.

Temperatures at or below freezing can be expected for the warned areas (shaded in light blue). Even those not included in the warning can expected temperatures from near-freezing into the mid 30s.
