Bethany Baptist Church Holds "Painting with Pals"

Bethany Baptist Church in Cochran held their third Painting with Pals event Friday night.  Attendees paid $20 and received instruction from Sandersville, GA artist Stephanie Sellars. 

Proceeds from the event went toward purchasing backpacks for children in Appalachia.  With $68 raised Friday, seventeen backpacks will be purchased.  The next Painting with Pals is scheduled for October 18.

Live Animal Show Coming to Washington County Library

The library brings a flare of adventure to town this month with a live animal show!

My Reptile Guys brings "fun and educational reptile adventures to thousands of families, schools and libraries and camps since 2007," a Chamber release says.

That's on Tuesday, July 9 at 4:30 p.m. at Rosa M. Tarbutton Memorial Library in Washington County.

All library programs are free and children must be accompanied by an adult.

Mercer University Cheerleaders to Host Camp for Kids

The Mercer University Cheerleaders will hold a camp for children ages 5-14 July 8-12 and July 15-19.  The camp will be held at the Macon campus.  Times are are noon to 5 pm.  Cost is $120 per session and includes a T-shirt.

Checks, made payable to Mercer University Cheerleading, should be sent to 1400 Coleman Ave, Macon, GA 31027 (Attn: Mercer Cheerleading) along with waiver/registration form.

Wednesday, June 19th, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., is our fundraiser night at Zaxby's! Come to Zaxby's and help raise money for Boys & Girls Club of Washington County jus by eating delicious Zaxby's chicken.

Car Wash to Raise Funds for Sickle Cell Patients at Ronald McDonald House

A community car wash will show its support for children with Sickle Cell.

That's on Saturday, June 15  starting at 8 a.m..

A car wash will cost $10 and a truck or SUV will cost $15.

The proceeds will support children with Sickle Cell at the Ronald McDonald House.
