SANDERSVILLE, GA. - Oconee Fall Line Technical College is pleased to announce that construction will begin at the start of 2012 for its new Health Science and Business Development Center at its North Campus in Sandersville.

The construction will begin on mid to late January, with an official ground-breaking ceremony to follow in February.

The building was designed by HKS, Inc. of Atlanta, Georgia and Quillian Powell Construction Co. of Valdosta, Georgia will be the general contractors.

The building will encompass instructional and lab space for programs such as Practical Nursing, Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician,Medical Assisting, and Paramedicine. The newly constructed building will also feature a state-of-the-art and expanded library to include a computer labs, private group study rooms and reading areas.

The facility will also include an Economic DevelopmentCenter for customized training in continuing education and mine safety training.

The building will also feature a conference center that can easily transition into space for large events up to 450 people, such as graduations, banquets, community events, private functions, etc. This space also includes a large lobby area for hosting pre-function activities and a warming kitchen for catered functions.

Construction of the facility is expected to be complete by May 2013, in time for the start of 2013 fall semester classes
