By Vanessa Hall

The T.J. Elder Middle School Lady Hawks softball started their season with a jamboree in Wilkinson County’s Death Valley Saturday, Sept. 7. The Lady Hawks played Oak Hill for the first game with a score of 7-6 in favor of Oak Hill. Next, the girls came back against Twiggs and scored 11 runs to their 4.  Wilkinson County was only able to score 4 runs in the last game of the day while we brought 15 of our girls home. All the girls played well.

"The cops are coming!! The cops are coming!! We stole a base! We stole a base!"  This basically sums up the 14-2 victory against Twiggs County Cobras Sept. 9. Gracie Brantley pitched five strike outs. Tyra Stephens and Haley Brown showed out with triples and Lauren Hall hit a double.  All the girls kept their heads in the game when it came to base running.
