Lady Hawks Advance to Second Round of State Playoffs

The Lady Hawks defeated Carver, Columbus 67-26 last night.

According to the Washington County High School Facebook page, the Lady Hawks advance to the second round of the state playoffs.

The leading scorers were Shon Kitchens with 23 points, Nia Johnson with 17 points and Tierra Murray with 13 points.

Former Bulldog to Speak at Waco Football Banquet

The Waco Football Banquet is scheduled for Thursday, February 21st at 7 p.m.

Former UGA football player Terrence Edwards is scheduled to slated to speak at the event, according to Waco's football facebook page.

Lady Hawks Best in Region 3-AAA

The WCHS Lady Hawks continued their winning streak January 29 rolling over the Swainsboro Lady Tigers 66 to 41. Shon Kitchens again led the scoring attack with 21 points, followed by Nia Johnson with 14 points. Jasmine Knight had 11 rebounds.

The Lady Hawks knocked off Thomson 62-40 Saturday, Feb. 1st.  Leading scorers were Nia Johnson and Shon Kitchens with 17 and 16 points.  Kassidy Jackson had 9 rebounds.  The JV Lady Hawks defeated Thomson 58-19 with Tiara Wicker and Aakiyah Harlomen with 17 and 10 points.

The last game of the regular season went into overtime against Dodge Co. as Daknequa White sank a 3-pointer to tie the game at the buzzer. The Lady Hawks came out on top 48-45. Leading scorers were Shon Kitchens and Daknequa White with 22 and 11 points.  They finished the regular season 23-1 overall and a perfect 8-0 in region 3-AAA play.

Golden Hawks Lift Hope to 200th Win

The Golden Hawks wounded the Swainsboro Tigers 77-49 on January 29.   A. J. Gray was the leading scorer with 14 points. Winning the game was a sweet victory for Coach Carlos Hope as he reached a milestone with his 200th career win as a head coach. Of the 200 wins, 154 of them have come as the head coach of the Washington County Golden Hawks.

Congratulations to the Golden Hawks on their victory over the Jefferson County Warriors on Friday night. The Hawks defeated the Warriors by a score of 53 to 35. A. J. Gray was the leading scorer with 12 points, followed by McKel Miller and Eric Key with 11 and 9 points.

 Our Lady Hawks defeated Jefferson County 87-31 on Friday 25th. Our leading scorers were Shon Kitchens, Tierra Murray, and Nia Johnson with 27, 20, and 14 points. Shon Kitchens and Demeshia Ford each had 10 rebounds. Congratulations to Shon on her double – double. The Lady Hawks family would also like to welcome back our very own #15 Allisha Gray. On Saturday 26th, we defeated Johnson Co. 78-29. Our leading scorers were Tierra Murray, Shon Kitchens, and Jasmine Knight with 17, 13, and 10 points. We are currently 20-1 (5-0 region). Go Lady Hawks!
