Sandersville florist makes orders with no power, heat

A Washington County florist prepared her Valentine's Day deliveries Thursday night with no electricity.

Mickie Hobby, owner of the Enchanted Florist store on Malone Street, didn't let the weather stop her from making her Valentine's Day orders at her shop of 11 years.

She says she had to ask one of her customers to bring several large buckets of water so that she could finish the arrangements.

Hobby says the only companion she had was her cat while she worked with no light and no heat.

Delivery woman Missy Smith says her boss worked tirelessly, and even got sick making sure her customers were satisfied.

"She has been here overnight and for the last couple of days working with candlelight and no heat and trying to do her best to fulfill all the orders that have come in. She likes to please her customers," Smith said.

She also said that even though the roads would be messy with tree limbs, she would do her best to get the orders delivered.
