Man dies after bar fight in Tennille

Authorities are still waiting on autopsy results to determine the cause of death for a Tift County man who died after a bar fight in Tennille.

That's according to Tennille Police Chief Joel Cochran.

He said it's still unclear whether Anthony Pollock actually died from injuries in the fight or some other cause.

Chief Joel Cochran says it happened around 11 p.m. Tuesday at the Porch Bar & Grill. He says officers responded to the reported fight and found several people fighting.

Pollock, was conscious when officers arrived but later died at Washington County Regional Medical Center. He was 39.

After an autopsy Friday, Cochran said Pollock's cause of death was still unknown.

Cochran said he'd ask the GBI to assist the investigation.

In a news release, he wrote: "We have called in the Georgia Bureau of Investigations which can provide additional resources so that we can ensure that the circumstances of Pollock's death have been exhaustively investigated. Warrants will be sought only when we are satisfied that the evidence has conclusively established that Mr. Pollock died from the incident at the Porch."
