Sandersville Doctor, Author to Speak About Upcoming Book

Physician, author and historian Dr. William Rawlings Jr. will speak about his upcoming book, A Killing on Ring Jaw Bluff: The Great Recession and The Death of Small Town Georgia.

That's according to Warren County's website.

Rawlings website says that he'll speak on the 1920s cotton economy crash at Warren County Historical Society's Annual Banquet on May 25 at the Cultural Center. That starts at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online.

Rev. Gary Dale Andrews, age 60, of 205 South Smith Street in Sandersville died Saturday May 12 in the Washington County Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday May 17 in the Prayer Garden of the First Christian Church of Sandersville. The Rev. Marlon Lastinger will officiate.

Rev. Andrews was the pastor of the First Christian Church of Sandersville.

That's on May 7 from 5-6:30 p.m. at Tennille Baptist Church on North Main St. in Tennille.

Air Show Features Blue Angels

Air Show Features Blue Angels

ROBINS, AFB., GA.--The Air Show lineup features performers including the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, F-18 Hornets, the C-130 Hercules, and the Air Force F-22 Raptor.

The air show is free and open to the public and starts at 11:30 a.m.

You can park at the Macon Airport, McConnell-Talbert Stadium and Anchor Glass and then catch bus transportation to the show. The shuttle starts at 9:45 a.m. both days and gates open at 10 a.m.

The shuttle runs until 5 p.m.

 Washington County High School is proud to announce that Aliyah Lazenby has been selected to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum on Law and Crime Scene Investigation this summer in Washington, D. C.  Aliyah is a sophomore at WCHS and is the daughter of Rondie Warthen and Howard Lazenby, Jr.
