SANDERSVILLE (February 5, 2013) – The OFTC North Campus Board of Trustees announced its largest fundraising campaign in the history of Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) today to fund library resources and collections critical for student success. The “For the Difference We Make” campaign has a goal of $650,000 and will conclude in June 2015.
“As President of Oconee Fall Line Technical College, I am extremely proud that trustees of the College have embraced this ambitious goal,” said Dr. Lloyd Horadan. “This campaign is a public statement of support throughout the communities we serve that Oconee Fall Line Technical College is a critical part of workforce training, providing skills for the jobs of today and of the future. With significant declines in State funding support, this fundraising initiative by the OFTC North Foundation is a critical element in assisting the College to successfully achieve its mission of workforce development. We are grateful to our Board of Trustees for their confidence in our mission.”
The “For the Difference We Make” campaign will raise funds necessary to provide the college’s new library space in the Health Science and Business Development Center with collections, technical resources, and periodicals. Building the College’s library collection and resources is also an important part of supporting the College’s recent application for membership as an accredited institution recognized by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools with the Commission of Colleges (SACS/COC). Accreditation by SACS/COC will benefit students by enhancing the ability of students to transfer selected courses to other SACS/COC institutions.
Trustees have already secured $101,300 toward their goal through private donations.
